Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, on 30 June, a parliamentary delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan, led by Speaker of the Milli Mejlis Sahiba Gafarova, arrived in the city of Khiva to take part in the First Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Forum.

At Urgench International Airport, the Azerbaijani delegation was greeted by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbayeva.

The forum is regarded as a significant step toward strengthening the friendly ties between the two nations, particularly by elevating interparliamentary cooperation to a new level. Members of both countries’ parliaments, women parliamentarians, and representatives of youth parliaments are participating in the event.

Hosting the forum in the ancient city of Khiva is intended to further reinforce the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
