Uzbekistan delegation also visited the Martyrs` Alley. They laid carnations on the graves of heroes who fall victims for the sovereignty and freedom of Azerbaijan.
Both countries` ministers met in the presence of delegations and then in private.
Discussions mainly revolved around prospects for development of military-technical cooperation and regional security.
The parties shared their views on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Azerbaijani Defense Minister Safar Abiyev briefed his Uzbek counterpart that over a million Azerbaijanis were forced from their homes and all infrastructure was completely destroyed
Abiyev pointed out that official Baku supports peaceful solution to the problem. However, if peace talks fail Azerbaijan may use other means to liberate its lands.
Uzbekistan Defense Minister Kabul Berdiyev said Uzbekistan continues to support Azerbaijan`s stance towards the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan signed the agreement on military-technical cooperation.
