According to a report by the Center for Developing Documentary and Experimental Cinema, special section of scientific documentaries of the festival is to focus on documentaries on medicine, technology and genesis of life.
Three best documentaries will be awarded Avicenna Statuette, IRNA reported.
The deadline for submitting works to the festival+s secretariat located in No. 15, Shahid Qandi Sqaure, North Sohrevardi St. Tehran is July 21. Entries should be produced after 2001.
Avicenna born in Bukhara, contemporary Uzbekistan and died in Hamedan, Iran, was a Persian polymath and the foremost physician and philosopher of his time.
He was also an astronomer, chemist, geologist, logician, paleontologist, mathematician, physicist, poet, psychologist, scientist, and teacher.
