In women’s draw, Akgul Amanmuradova lost to Roberta Vinci of Italy with the score 3:6, 2:6. The match lasted an hour and 10 minutes.

Amanmuradova recorded two aces and one double faults. Italian served seven aces and had no double fault. Vinci broke Uzbek player three times.

In men’s draw, Denis Istomin was beaten by Andreas Seppi of Italy in five set thriller 6:7 (4), 7:5, 7:6 (3), 6:7 (3) and 2:6. The players played four hours and 10 minutes.

Uzbekistan number one recorded 16 aces against 13 of Seppi. Italian made six double faults and Istomin made one double fault. Seppi broke Istomin twice, while Denis could clinch break point only once.

Akgul Amanmuradova and Denis Istomin also suffered defeat in pair matches. Akgul Amanmuradova and Stephanie Foretz Gacon (France) lost to Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina of Russia with the score 2:6 and 5:7.

Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France beat Mikhail Elgin of Russia and Denis Istomin with the score 0:6 and 4:6.
