Assomac: Technical Assistance to Small Industrial Zones in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During international exhibitions held in Milan, the Uzcharmsanoat Association and its enterprises conducted productive negotiations with Italian organizations such as Assomac and Pisie.

Key topics of discussion included the expansion of bilateral cooperation, technical support for Uzbekistan’s leather industry, and grants for educational centers.

Currently, Assomac has established close ties with Uzbekistan, providing technical assistance to many local enterprises. During the meeting, the parties discussed plans for opening a service center in Uzbekistan and exchanged views on practical steps in this direction.

Additionally, Assomac will act as a technical partner in developing a small industrial zone for leather production in the Akhangaran district of Tashkent region, providing consultancy for new projects there.

Acting Chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat Association Akbar Sultanov also met with the Chairman of the Iranian Association of Leather Industry. They discussed export and import issues, including the supply of chemicals for the leather industry. The Iranian side expressed interest in purchasing processed sheepskin from Uzbekistan. An agreement was reached for Iranian companies to participate in the upcoming international exhibition "UzCharmExpo-EurAsia-2024," scheduled to take place in Tashkent from October 15 to 17, 2024.

Portuguese company Azpiel and Spanish firm Incusa agreed to purchase Wet Blue and Krast leather products from the Uzbek company Hamkor Nur Savdo. Additionally, this company signed an export contract with an Italian firm worth US$2 million.

Hungarian company Tisza Cipo Group completed negotiations with Ulkan Laziz LLC regarding the purchase of specialized footwear. Representatives from Uzbek enterprises plan to visit Hungary to finalize a contract totaling US$2.5 million.
