Asaka Bank completes introduction of Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State joint stock commercial bank “Asaka” started active work at the Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System in the third quarter of September 2011.

Currently, there are 59 points, where clients can send or receive remittances in US dollars or euros. Thanks to new partnership, the system now works in 32 settlements in Uzbekistan. For the first time, the money transfer system entered to Altinkul village of Andijan region and Shofirkan city of Bukhara region.

In near future, the bank plans to launch Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System in all its branches (over 130 service points).

Akmal Muradov, head of department of money transfers of Asaka Bank, said the bank studied new products of this perspective market to expand and develop activities in money transfer and in the result introduced Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System.

He said that the market analysis showed that the highest turnover fell to Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System. In perspective, the bank and Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System is planning to increase money transfer system and profitability from the service, as well as strengthen its position in the segment among the Uzbek banks.

Shakhla Kasimov, deputy director of Zolotaya Korona Money Transfer System in CIS, said the share of the system in the volume of remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan exceeded 43% in the second quarter of 2011. She added that the volume of remittances in Russia-Uzbekistan corridor increased by 65% compared to the second quarter, he added.

She said that growing volume of remittances require development of infrastructure, including in issuing countries, so clients have no problem with receiving money transfers. She added that cooperation with Asaka Bank will allow to expand remittance network in Uzbekistan. Shakhla Kasimov noted that the system is planning to increase number of points in Uzbekistan up to 1,000 due to developing existing partnership.
