As part of a joint project with the World Bank, it is planned to create and equip BPO centers in the regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 7 April, the Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with acting Global Director for Digital Development, and Head of Digital Development Practice in Europe and Central Asia at the World Bank Nicole Klingen. 

Issues on the implementation of the comprehensive project “Inclusive Digitalization in Uzbekistan” were discussed at the meeting.

Also, issues of cooperation with the World Bank were discussed as part of the implementation of measures to develop the digital economy, e-government, digital infrastructure, and IT education.

As noted, one of the priority tasks of the Ministry of ICT is to increase youth employment, create highly paid jobs by widely attracting young people to this area. With this in mind, with the participation of the World Bank, the project "Inclusive Digitalization in Uzbekistan" provides for the organization and equipping of centers for the provision of remote services (BPO-centers).

The parties noted the importance of this project in the digital development of Uzbekistan and expressed their readiness for its effective implementation and expansion of cooperation in the field of ICT.
