Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Presidential Resolution “On further improvement of the support system for the development of culture and art” was adopted.

According to the document, Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture was transformed into Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers, while maintaining the current funding procedure and staffing.

The Foundation is included in the Secretariat for Tourism, Sports, Culture and Mass Communications of the Cabinet of Ministers.

Among the main tasks of the Foundation are still:

promotion of the development of the sphere of culture and art, as well as the implementation of comprehensive support for cultural figures and activities initiated by them in the field of fine arts, literature, theater, music and choreography; 

expanding international and interstate cultural ties, developing cooperation with international cultural organizations and charitable foundations, attracting foreign investments and grants, promoting the development of charity;

assistance in establishing a creative intercultural dialogue and integration of the art of Uzbekistan into the world artistic and cultural space, demonstrating aspects of the cultural and scientific-technical potential and competitiveness of the country;

improving the system of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of culture and art, as well as providing literature and periodicals for cultural and art institutions, etc.

Sources of formation of the Foundation's resources:

funds from the republican budget allocated on the basis of acts (including protocol decisions) of the Cabinet;

income received from the placement of temporarily idle funds of the Fund in financial institutions;

charitable donations, philanthropic support, grants from legal entities and individuals, as well as international organizations;

other sources not prohibited by legislative acts.
