Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The Government adopted a resolution “On measures for the further development and popularization of army sports in the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In accordance with the resolution, the Sports Club of the Ministry of Defense will be transformed into the Center for the Development of Higher Sports Results of the Ministry of Defense.

The Center is an institution equivalent to the independent management of the central apparatus of the Ministry.

One of the main tasks of the center is the development of mass sport, the training of high-class athletes for the national teams of the country and the troops of the Ministry of Defense among military personnel, employees and student athletes.

The resolution approved the Regulation on the organization of army sports in the Ministry of Defense, as well as a program of measures to improve army sports in the ministry.

According to the Regulation, army sports include Olympic, mass, national, military-practical, technical and practical sports.

The regulation also defines the main tasks of a number of ministries and departments in the field of development of army sports.
