The seminars were part of the series of events planned to be carried out in each region of the country. Similar seminars had been held in Andijan, Namangan, Termez, Karshi and Tashkent cities for lawyers of financial institutions and businesses and representatives of the judicial system.

Over 60 representatives of local business and judicial agencies had discussed issues of training of arbitrators and mediators, improvement of their professional skills. They had also learnt about modern trends in arbitration and mediation, activities of the Arbitration Development Center under the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, including procedures of the arbitration courts, selection of arbitrators and other related issues.

The seminars were organized within the joint project of UNDP and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan “Supporting to the development of arbitration courts and other alternative methods of dispute settlement in the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
