Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Around 3.8 billion cubic meters of Russian gas is being supplied to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan, according to Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliyev.
He noted that the transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan is currently taking place, amounting to approximately 3.8 billion cubic meters.
According to Satkaliyev, Kazakhstan is only conducting swap operations, as there is no gas shortage in its domestic market, and these involve relatively small volumes. Gas prices are formed based on the spot market.
Earlier, Akhan Aydyn, Deputy Chairman for Economics and Finance at QazaqGaz, also announced plans to increase the volume of Russian gas transiting through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan to 11 billion cubic meters per year.
