Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidential resolution “On measures to further improve the practice of proactive budgeting and support active mahallas” was adopted.

According to the document, 1,666 projects worth 1.5 trillion soums were recognized as winners in the proactive budgeting processes carried out as part of the first season of 2023.

In addition, another 1.3 trillion soums are allocated. for the implementation of 1,309 projects, each of which received more than 2,000 votes in the initiative budgeting processes conducted during the first season of 2023, but was not declared the winner.

It was determined that additionally allocated funds are directed at the expense of funds planned under the Obod Qishloq and Obod Mahalla programs for 2023.

It has been established that within the framework of initiative budgeting processes, executives are prohibited from giving instructions to their employees for the mandatory collection of votes. At the same time, coercion to collect votes is classified as involving employees of the relevant organization in forced labor.

The Action Plan was approved to further improve the processes of initiative budgeting, eliminate certain shortcomings observed on the ground, and also aimed at ensuring a more transparent and fair organization of these processes.
