Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 20 June, Shokhrukh Gulamov, the Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participated in the Annual Consultative Meeting with the French Development Agency (AFD).
The main goal of the event was to review the progress of current joint projects and to identify new promising initiatives in the priority sectors of the economy.
In collaboration with the AfD, four projects totaling €500 million have been completed. Six projects in the areas of energy, water supply, green economy, and livestock, amounting to €450 million, are currently in the implementation phase. Additionally, seven projects are being developed in the fields of water and forestry management, energy, and the banking and financial sector, including in the regions of Uzbekistan.
In November 2023, a Cooperation Program between Uzbekistan and the AFD for the period of 2023-2025 was signed. It encompasses the main priorities for Uzbekistan's future financing. The partnership will continue in the water and energy sectors, as well as in the green economy. The AFD will also work in the Aral Sea region to finance investments necessary for its ecological sustainability.
