Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26-27 June, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov was on an official visit to Muscat, the capital of Oman.
As part of the visit, on 27 June, an Uzbek-Omani business forum and bilateral meetings in B2B format were organized with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the two countries.
The forum was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments, industrial associations, commercial banks and more than 100 large companies from Oman and Uzbekistan.
The main attention was paid to current issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as measures to develop industrial cooperation.
As a result of the event, a number of agreements were reached between representatives of the business communities of the two countries aimed at developing bilateral cooperation.
In particular, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Orabi International signed a cooperation agreement providing for the free allocation of 100 square meters of land in a newly opened shopping center in Muscat. This will allow the import and distribution of products manufactured in Uzbekistan, as well as export them to third countries.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the chambers of commerce and industry of Uzbekistan and Oman. The purpose of the memorandum is to expand and deepen trade and economic cooperation, support the development of business relations between entrepreneurs of the two countries, as well as create favorable conditions for investment in the economies of Uzbekistan and Oman.
