Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 February 2020, a literary and musical evening in memory of Alisher Navoi was held in the congress hall of Astrakhan State University (Russia).
The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Astrakhan Region, the Astrakhan Regional Public Organization for the Preservation and Development of Uzbek Culture "Uzbekistan" and the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don.
Participants in the evening in memory of the great poet and thinker, public and statesman Alisher Navoi were officials and representatives of the public of the Astrakhan region, consuls general of Turkmenistan and Iran accredited in Astrakhan, as well as representatives of the Uzbek diaspora and students studying in universities of the region.
The speeches noted the greatest scale of the personality of Alisher Navoi and his limitless talent, which are inscribed in golden letters in the history and literary heritage of not only Central Asia, but of all mankind.
After a series of official performances, a concert program was organized in which local creative groups took part: the Tantana choreographic ensemble and the Dostar vocal and pop ensemble. Pupils of schools in the city of Astrakhan, the children of our compatriots and Uzbek students read poetry by Alisher Navoi in Uzbek and Russian.
An exhibition of books by Turkic enlighteners was organized as part of the memorial evening, as well as household items of the Uzbek people. An interactive stand was organized with the support of the Consulate General, demonstrating the tourism potential of Uzbekistan to the guests of the evening.
