An all-season resort for 6,000 tourist places will be built in Chimgan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 February 2022, a press conference was held at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the implementation of the construction project for the Beldersay-Chimgan-Nanai international all-season resort and the presentation of the first general project for the integrated development of Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, director of the State Unitary Enterprise Project Office "Beldersay-Chimgan-Nanai" Sardor Mirakhmedov, representatives of the Directorate of the TRP "Charvak", media representatives and public figures.

As part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the French Republic, an agreement was reached on the implementation of the project for the construction of the international all-season resort Beldersay-Chimgan-Nanai. 

The project plans to build an all-season resort of international level for 6,000 tourist places. On the territory of the Chimgan mountain range, it is planned to build more than 20 types of entertainment, cable cars (gondolas and chairlifts), various attractions (Zip line, Alpine coaster, Adventure tower, summer/winter Tubing) and 11 ski slopes with different levels of difficulty and with a total length 20 km.

The Chimgan tourist zone will consist of three stations, the highest station located at an altitude of 3,309 m will be the highest point in the countries of Central Asia using a cable car. The master plan and economic model of the complex were developed by a consortium of French companies.

The project is funded by the French Treasury, direct foreign and local investments. The total investment in the project will be US$269 million.

Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 559 from 17 September 2020 established that the rights to land plots located on the territory of the international all-season resort are gradually realized through the electronic trading platform "E-IJRO AUKSION", while investors implementing projects on the territory of the resort complex will receive the status of a participant in a free tourist zone "Charvak".
