An album dedicated to the unique man-made masterpieces of the Karakalpak people is being prepared for printing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan is preparing for printing a colorful album dedicated to the unique man-made masterpieces of the Karakalpak people. Currently, the texts are being finalized and the layout of photographic materials is underway.

The traditional art of the Karakalpaks is diverse and distinctive. It is represented by highly artistic objects that shaped the life of the Karakalpaks - various types of textiles, including items of clothing decorated with skillful embroidery, leather and wood products. One of the important qualities of the applied art of the Karakalpaks is the ability to practically universal integration of unique hand-made works into the modern interior - they are very organically in harmony with the current decorative furnishings. The old masters supposedly anticipated the demands of today's actual aesthetics and, ahead of their time, solved problems that are interesting to contemporary artists.

The authors of the album will demonstrate the inexhaustible variety of Karakalpak art from a private collection that has been collected for over 20 years and includes over 300 artifacts, as well as some objects of applied art from the collection of the State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan named after I.V. Savitsky.

The book-album will be announced at the Jubilee V Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in September 2021.

Research initiatives implemented by the project "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the World Collections" are aimed at studying, preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan. Eriell Group, an international oilfield services company, provides all-round support in the implementation of projects.
