An agreement was signed to establish a 5-star Hyatt Regency hotel in Bukhara

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Tashkent, a signing ceremony and a press conference were held between “Metris Ventures” (Mj Group) and Hyatt International on the establishment of a 5-star "Hyatt Regency" brand hotel in Bukhara.

The event was online attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov. 

“The conference was also attended by Mr. Jalan, Chairman and Founder of MJ Developers Group, Euan McGlashan, Chairman of the Board of "VALOR Hospitality Partners", and "Hyatt International", Development's Europe, Africa, Middle East and South-West Asia  Vice President Takuya Aoyama attended.  I wish you success in your projects,” said Aziz Abdukhakimov.

According to the agreement, a 5-star hotel under the “Hyatt Regency” brand will be opened in Bukhara.  The total cost of the project, which will be implemented in the IV quarter of 2021, is 14 million soums.  The hotel has 224 rooms and 450 beds.  The hotel has a total of 7 floors, the building has been completed and is being divided into rooms.

“It’s no secret that “Disneyland” in Tokyo is visited by more than 1 million people a month.  We are ready to help Uzbekistan achieve the same result.  The current reforms and innovations in Uzbekistan have given us, the international investors a great impetus.  The reason for opening such a 5-star hotel in Bukhara region is the opportunities created in our country and the attention paid to investors.  I hope that our investments in Uzbekistan will definitely give its result.  To this end, at today's signing ceremony, we decided to take new steps, making sure of this.  We believe that this will open a new stage in our business and in the tourism potential of Uzbekistan. We consider Uzbekistan to be a country with a rich history, and it is no coincidence that we have chosen Bukhara, one of the world's most recognized cities.  It’s time for us, for investors to change the way people around the world think about Uzbekistan,” said Takuya Aoyama, Hyatt International Development’s Vice President for Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Southwest Asia.

During the meeting, a joint venture agreement was signed between the Middle East high-end hotel industry and Mj Developers, as well as agreements on franchising (Metris Ventures and Hyatt Regency Bukhara). 

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development Aziz Abdukhakimov held negotiations with a delegation led by Chairman of the Board of Valor Hospitality Partners Euan McGlashan on 30 March.
