Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Equestrian polo is an amazing sport. It is also called "the sport of kings". This challenging and entertaining team game requires the players to have masterly body control, superior horse control and high concentration.

The historical homeland of polo is considered to be Great Britain. It was there that modern horse racing fans came up with new rules for team play and brought it to perfection. In Uzbekistan, they began to play polo a long time ago, ethno-games such as ulok-kupkari and turkiston were more popular in this region, but as a modern sport, equestrian polo in Uzbekistan began to develop relatively recently.

In 2018, in the Kashkadarya and Fergana regions, they began to open new modern complexes for breeding and breeding polo-pony and carabair horses, which, as it turned out, in our conditions are most suitable for playing polo. In 2020, the Equestrian Polo Federation was opened in Uzbekistan. The Federation is headed by Bakhromjon Gaziev, who previously served as Deputy Chairman of the Equestrian Federation of Uzbekistan.

In accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the state program for the development of horse breeding, equestrian sports, modern pentathlon and polo in Uzbekistan until 2025", the Polo Federation of Uzbekistan organizes an equestrian polo competition on the snow "Amirsoy Polo Cup 2022" on 9 January 2022, in Bustonlyk district of Tashkent region.

Competitions are held in order to popularize this sport in Uzbekistan and open new prospects for the massive development of equestrian polo in the regions of Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that equestrian polo competitions were already held in January 2021 at the Amirsoy Resort mountain complex. The competition took place at an altitude of 1,820 meters and became the first snow polo match in the world history played in the highlands of Uzbekistan.
