Amendments introduced to the regulations on the procedure for admission, transfer, restoration and removal of university students

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan made changes and additions to the regulations on the procedure for admission, transfer, rehabilitation and exclusion of students from higher educational institutions on 27 April.

According to the changes, now when applying for admission to undergraduate courses, students do not need a medical certificate in the form 086-U.

In accordance with the document, the list of those who are accepted to study at universities on the basis of a state grant without an exam includes:

  • graduates of the Ishokhon Ibrat School of Foreign Languages, who received excellent marks in foreign languages and literature, philology and language education;
  • one military man from each military unit on the basis of the recommendation of the command of the unit and the primary organization of the Youth Union.

Written exams will be held in encrypted form. Now applicants can take Turkish exams as a foreign language.

Each item will be evaluated in the range from 0% to 100% based on the maximum score allocated to each item, and its place (3.1 points, 2.1 points and 1.1 points). Applicants can get a maximum of 189 points.

According to the decree, applicants from July 1 to July 30 can submit documents for correspondence courses. Entrance examinations will be held from August 16 to August 25 in at least three subjects.

The results of entrance examinations will be published on the official website of the educational institution within 1-3 days.

Upon admission to the graduate courses, the interview was canceled on the basis of questions in the specialty in order to determine the incoming abilities and interests in scientific and scientific-pedagogical activity, the document says.

The exams in “Computer Science and Information Technologies” and “Theory and Practice of Building a Democratic Society in Uzbekistan” were canceled as well.

Candidates entering the graduate courses will not participate in a foreign language exam if they have a certificate of IELTS at least 5.5 points (previously 5) or TOEFL - at least 72 points (58).

Application for the restoration of studies in the spring semester can be submitted from January 15 to 25.
