Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary Oybek Shakhavdinov met with Mihály Vandor, the head of the Hungarian textile company Polonagyker, according to Dunyo news agency.

During the meeting, the ambassador presented the opportunities within Uzbekistan's textile industry, highlighting the country's modern production capabilities and substantial reserves of high-quality cotton.

He also emphasized the ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business climate, such as tax incentives, simplification of administrative procedures, and the protection of foreign investors' rights. These measures make Uzbekistan an attractive partner for textile companies. Uzbek enterprises expressed their readiness to cooperate on joint innovative projects and the implementation of advanced technologies.

The Hungarian side expressed interest in participating in the Joint Conference of two international textile organizations, the ITMF & IAF Convention 2024, which will be held for the first time in Samarkand on 8–10 September.

Hungarian businessmen plan to conduct several B2B meetings with Uzbek textile manufacturers at this event to establish cooperation and set up long-term textile supply agreements to Hungary.

It was noted that the conference participants would have the opportunity not only to discuss current issues in the textile industry but also to familiarize themselves with Uzbekistan's textile and garment production during business tours. These tours will provide valuable insights into the production processes, innovations, and quality of local manufacturers' products.
