The Ambassador handed the credentials addressed to President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the issues of boosting cooperation in all areas, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
It was noted that the interaction withiin the Uzbekistan-EU format, as well as within the frameworks of international organizations, including the UN and the OSCE plays an important role in the Uzbek-Portuguese dialogue.
The parties paid special attention to the current state and perspectives of enlarging mutual trade and investment partnership. The interest by leading Portuguese companies was noted in implementing mutually advantageous projects, attracting the newest technologies into the “Navoi” Free industrial-economic zone and “Angren” Special industrial zone, which offer significant tax and customs preferences.
The parties also exchanged views on other international and regional issues.
