Almost 20 million citizens added to Uzbekistan’s unified electronic voter list

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A total of 19,944,859 voters have been registered in Uzbekistan’s unified electronic voter list, Zayniddin Nizamkhodjaev, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, said.

According to the provided data, 506,800 young individuals will participate in elections for the first time.

During the door-to-door verification of the voter list, it was revealed that among the voters, 832,000 individuals have disabilities, with 105,000 needing assistance to participate in the upcoming elections.

To assist every voter who cannot vote independently, nearly 16,000 volunteers have been mobilized.

Elections for the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and local Kengashes will take place on 27 October 2024 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Voters are required to present their identification to a member of the precinct election commission and sign the voter list. After this, they will receive a ballot.

If some voters cannot come to the polling place due to health reasons or other circumstances, the relevant precinct election commission may organize voting at their residence upon request.

In early voting for the parliamentary elections in Uzbekistan, over 1 million citizens have already cast their ballots.
