Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 8 to 11 August 2019, the World Junior Belt Kurash Championship for the prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held in the Olmalik KMK sports complex in Almalyk.

Young athletes from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, China, Japan have already confirmed their participation in the tournament.

The World Junior Belt Kurash Championship is organized with the support of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture, the Belt Kurash Federation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the tournament, competitions in absolute weight will be held, combining traditional and modern areas of this sport.

The prize pool of the prestigious tournament is US$63,000.

In accordance with this, prizes in the amount of:

US$1,500 - for 1 place

US$1,000 - for 2nd place

US$500 - for 3 place

The main purpose of such competitions is to popularize our national sport - kurash around the world, and to increase the interest of youth in this sport.
