Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- International judo tournament from the Grand Prix series ended in the city of Zagreb, Croatia. The bouts in the heavy weight category ended successfully for our team.

Alisher Yusupov, who competed in the weight category of +100 kilograms, won the bronze medal of the tournament. He managed to win his rivals from the national team of Korea, Slovenia and Poland. In the quarter-finals, our compatriot lost to Roy Mayer (Holland), but in the fight for the bronze he defeated member of the Russian national team Alena Tskhovrebova.

Thus, Yusupov won the medal of the Grand Prix tournament for the first time. He also received 350 points for the world ranking and the Tokyo Olympics.

The national team of Uzbekistan in this tournament was awarded one gold and a bronze medal. We ranked fifth among 86 countries.
