Al Hilal, Kashima lead bonus list
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Saudi giants Al Hilal and Japanese outfit Kashima Antlers failed to clear their Round of 16 encounters in the AFC Champions League but the two, nevertheless, lead the pack when it comes to performance bonuses from AFC this season.

The two clubs have received a total of US$360000 each in performance bonus and travel subsidies so far, closely followed by Al Shabab (Saudi Arabia) and ACL quarter-finalists Cerezo Osaka (Japan) and Jeonbuk Motors (Korea Republic) with US$340000.

Al Hilal and Kashima both earned US$50000 as bonus for reaching the Round of 16 apart from winning and drawing group phase games.

Kashima won three and drew three of their group stage matches to finish second behind Suwon Bluewings while Al Hilal won four and drew one game. They also finished second in Group A on goal difference behind Sepahan.

Bunyodkor (Uzbekistan), Suwon Bluewings (Korea Republic), Sepahan (Iran), Tianjin Teda (China) and Zob Ahan (Iran) received US$320000 while Al Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Al Sadd (Qatar), FC Seoul (Korea Republic) received US$300000 each.

Indonesian outfit Arema Malang and UAE’s Al Jazira are at the bottom of this list with only US$110000.

Al Jazira finished last in Group A with just one point from their draw with Al Gharafa (Qatar) while Arema lost five games and drew one with Shandong Luneng (China).

AFC has so far distributed US$7.77 million in bonuses and travel subsidies to AFC Champions League teams this season.

Each victory in the group stage guarantees US$40000 while both teams get US $20000 in case of a draw.

All the quarter-finalist teams will get a bonus of US$80000 while the semi-finalists will receive US$120000 irrespective of the result. The runners-up of the competition will take home US$750000 while the winner will be richer by US$1.5 million.
