Air China Launches Direct Urumqi–Tashkent Flights
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Air China has inaugurated a new direct flight route connecting Urumqi and Tashkent, further expanding its presence in Uzbekistan following the successful launch of its Beijing–Tashkent–Beijing service.
On 22 July at 12:50, the first flight on the new route landed at Tashkent International Airport. The Boeing 737 aircraft was welcomed with a traditional water salute and flowers, marking the ceremonial opening of a new international air connection.
According to an Air China representative, the launch of the Urumqi–Tashkent route is a significant step in strengthening aviation ties between China and Uzbekistan. The new service is expected to boost business and tourism links, offering passengers a modern and comfortable travel option.
Timur Khalilov, Director of Uzbekistan Airports Handling, emphasized the importance of the new flight, stating it will serve as a reliable bridge between the two countries and play a key role in the international route network, supporting the growth of economic, cultural, and humanitarian relations.
Air China will operate the Urumqi–Tashkent–Urumqi route three times a week — on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
