Agro-Industrial Cooperation Between Uzbekistan and Belarus Reaches a New Stage
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 September 2025, within the framework of the Third Uzbekistan–Belarus Women Entrepreneurs’ Business Forum, the fifth breakout session was held under the theme “Uzbekistan – Belarus: An Expert View on the Horizons of Partnership in the Agro-Industrial Sector.”
Participants discussed prospects for cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, including the expansion of research activities, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and innovative solutions, as well as the development of joint investment projects.
It was noted that both countries place significant emphasis on ensuring food security, modernizing farms and agricultural clusters, and applying advanced technologies and scientific approaches.
Belarus’ expertise in agricultural mechanization, the use of high technologies, and the training of qualified specialists was recognized as valuable and in demand for the sector’s development in Uzbekistan.
According to statistics, trade turnover of agro-industrial and food products between the two countries amounted to US$234.2 million in 2024, and US$122.7 million in the first five months of 2025.
At the conclusion of the session, memorandums of cooperation were signed between the Research Institute of Agriculture in the Southern Regions of Uzbekistan and the V. F. Kuprevich Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, as well as between the Research Institute of Rainfed Agriculture and the Republican Research Subsidiary Unitary Enterprise “Flax Institute” of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
