Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 September, within the framework of the International Conference on Food Security in Samarkand, the Agri-Food Investment Forum of Uzbekistan was held.
This forum was designed to reveal the agricultural potential of countries.
More than 100 companies from 26 countries took part in the event.
As a result of the forum, agreements worth US$1.88 billion were concluded, including, agreements on 24 projects worth US$857.3 million were signed to attract direct investment; grants and funds from international financial institutions - 14 projects for US$707.5 million. In addition, trade agreements worth US$319.2 million were concluded.
The Samarkand International Conference on Food Security was organized by the government of Uzbekistan with technical support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
