Aggregate capital of NBU reaches 889.1bn soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Aggregate capital of National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity reached 889.1 billion soums as of 1 October 2011, the bank’s press service said.

The volume of credit portfolio of the bank made up 4.389 trillion soums. The bank said it issued loans to profitable industries and perspective projects for Uzbekistan.

NBU said that large part of loans issued to fuel-energy, machinery and metallurgy, agriculture, transport and communication sectors. Over 60% of loans fell to these sectors. The bank also allocated loans to light industry, chemistry sector, cellulose-paper industry, food industry, construction and construction materials sectots.

In nine months of 2011, the bank issued US$606.6 million in hard currency and 967 billion soums in national currency to technical and technological re-equipments of the enterprises.

Within the programme on supporting and developing small businesses, the bank financed projects due to resources of foreign banks and international financial institutions, off-budget funds and own resources.

As of 1 October 2011, the bank financed 71 projects for US$34.58 million due to resources of the China Development Bank.

In 2011, NBU directed 462.7 billion to support entrepreneurship, which helped to created 7,000 jobs. The bank allocated microloans for 54.5 billion soums.

The bank also takes part with its own capital in investment processes, modernization, technological and technical re-equipment of enterprises in various areas. On the base of these enterprises, the bank creates subsidiaries to rehabilitate production capacities.

The bank received several insolvent enterprises to its balance and it recovered production at 47 companies.

NBU issued resources for 93.1 billion soums to rehabilitate production, modernization and increase turnover resources, of which 29.4 billion soums were issued in 2011.

Currently, the enterprises produced goods for 224.55 billion soums, of which 87.2 billion soums of produced in 2011. The volume of exports made up US$64.25 million, including US$22.3 million in 2011.

The bank also issued 232,200 banking payment cards in nine months of 2011 and turnover with them reached 1.078 trillion soums. Number of issued banking payment cards reached 2.503 million units, of which 786,400 cards were issued within so-called salary projects.

NBU installed 13,573 POS-terminals at trade-service enterprises and their turnover made up 888 billion soums.
