Loan portfolio of the bank made up 3.494 trillion soums in the reporting period. In line with credit policy of NBU, the bank directed loans to development of priority industries of economies, financial measures on modernization of existing enterprises and creating new effective capacities, support small businesses, creation and development of production of import-replacing consumer goods, based on processing local raw materials.
NBU allocated over US$617.8 million and 1.067 trillion soums to implement Anti-Crisis Programme, support real sector of economy to re-equip and modernize capacities. This helped to create over 10,00 new jobs.
Within the programme on support and development of small businesses, the bank considered projects of the businesses on using credit lines of foreign banks and financial institutions, as well as off-budget funds of Uzbekistan and own resources. The bank selected 238 projects with total cost of US$555.2 million within using resources of foreign credit lines and financed projects for US$321.38 million in the reporting period.
The bank issued loans for 276.7 billion soums due to own resources and 1.2 billion soums due to resources of off-budget funds. Besides, the bank issued microloans for 31.8 billion soums in nine months of 2010.
The bank also participates in investment processes, modernization and re-equipment of enterprises, working in various sectors of economy, with its own capital. The bank creates subsidiaries through rehabilitation of production activity.
Currently, 41 enterprises of 61 companies, received to the balance of the bank, started production of goods. The bank directed 46.4 billion soums to modernization and re-equipment of insolvent enterprises, including 27 billion soums in nine months of 2010.
Enterprises produced goods for 97 billion soums (58.9 billion soums since the beginning of 2010) and exported goods for US$34.1 million (US$16.8 milion), and created 5,790 new jobs. The bank also works on selling enterprises to potential investors.
NBU carried out active work on attracting free resources of population and enterprises to deposits. In the result, the volume of deposits of population both in hard currency and national currency reached 346.4 billion soums. The growth made up 20% year-on-year.
The bank also issued 379,200 banking payment cards and increased their total number to 2.155 million. The transactions volume on banking payments cards made up 675 billion soums. The bank also installed 7,410 POS-terminals at trade and service points.
Correspondent network of NBU currently covers 653 banks, of which 625 are foreign banks in 72 countries and 28 banks in Uzbekistan.
