Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- More than 7 million passengers have used the services of the Afrosiyob high-speed train over 12 years. This was stated by the press service of the Uzbekistan Temir Yollari company.
In 2011, two modern high-speed Afrosiyob trains, produced by the Spanish company Talgo, were put into operation on the railways of Uzbekistan.
Over the past twelve years, the number of such trains in the country has reached six.
Currently, these trains regularly operate in the directions “Tashkent – Samarkand – Tashkent”, “Tashkent – Bukhara – Tashkent” and “Tashkent – Karshi – Tashkent”.
Afrosiyob trains carry about three thousand passengers every day.
