Admission Parameters for Uzbek Universities Approved for the 2025/2026 Academic Year
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has officially approved the admission parameters for state higher education institutions for the 2025/2026 academic year, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation said.
Bachelor’s degree programs will be offered in three formats: full-time, evening, and distance learning. A total of 148,400 seats have been allocated for full-time study, including 124,339 for instruction in Uzbek, 19,125 in Russian, 4,121 in Karakalpak, 375 in Kazakh, 305 in Tajik, 75 in Kyrgyz, and 65 in Turkmen.
Evening programs will provide 28,732 seats, with 25,563 taught in Uzbek, 2,477 in Russian, and 437 in Karakalpak.
Distance learning will accommodate 18,195 students: 16,000 studying in Uzbek, 1,780 in Russian, and 415 in Karakalpak.
Master’s programs will also be conducted in three formats. Full-time master's programs will accept 20,210 students — 17,263 of them will study in Uzbek and 2,947 in Russian. Evening master’s programs will enroll 1,319 students, including 1,107 in Uzbek, 138 in Russian, and 74 in Karakalpak. In the distance format, 420 students will continue their studies: 352 in Uzbek, 53 in Russian, and 15 in Karakalpak.
Within the approved admissions framework, 45,422 state-funded grants are allocated: 35,500 for bachelor’s degree programs and 9,922 for master’s programs.
In addition, the government has earmarked funding for 1,320 grants for students enrolled in foreign or non-state universities. Furthermore, 4,000 grants will be allocated specifically for women, and another 30 for young compatriots living abroad.
