Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15-19 May this year, in Batumi, Georgia, ADB and the Government of Georgia jointly organized a knowledge exchange program for representatives of the customs and transport structures of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan to develop the Shymkent-Tashkent-Khujand economic corridor (STKEC).
The organizers shared with the participants their experience in facilitating border crossing procedures and applying international standards to improve food safety.
As part of the program, participants also visited the Sarp-Sarpi border crossing between Georgia and Turkey and a dried fruit processing plant in the Adjara region and observed the facilitation of border crossing procedures for the rapid flow of goods and passengers, using international standards in the processing of export horticultural products.
