Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted resolution “On admission to secondary special, professional educational establishments of Uzbekistan in 2011/2012 academic year” on 21 June 2011.

The resolution entrusted the Center for secondary special, professional education under the Ministry of higher and secondary special education and interested ministries and departments, as well as local administration to strengthen material-technical base of colleges, which changed their specialization, with labs, books, skilled teachers.

The document approved general parameters of admission of graduates of ninth class of general schools to professional and academic lyceums in 2011/2012 academic year based on real demand of economy in specialists with secondary special and professional education.

According to the document, about 591,000 people will graduate ninth classes of general schools and 6,453 will be accepted to the 10th class. Other 584,500 people will study at secondary special and professional education. At the same time, 547,674 graduates will be accepted to professional colleges and 36,826 to academic lyceums.

Cabinet of Ministers formed a special working group, which will study situation with training of students of the 10th and 11th classes at the general schools and submit proposal on full coverage of graduates of the ninth classes with secondary special and professional education. The group will also make proposals on construction and reconstruction of secondary special and professional education establishments and their dormitories.
