Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent city police received 24,940 applications for registration of biometric passports for traveling abroad since the beginning of 2019. Of these, 9,372 foreign passports have already been issued, Tashkent city police said.
Over 570 passports were issued on 3 February of 2019. The police officers are also working on Sundays to provide convenient services to population.
Uzbekistan abolished travel stickers from 1 January 2019 and introduced biometric passports of citizens of Uzbekistan to travel abroad.
Passports for traveling abroad issued from 2 to 10 years based on the age of the citizen. Current biometric passports with stickers will be valid till 2021.
