Uzbekistan plans fully introduce digital television by 2015. The country offers social package of channels, which includes 12 channels, including seven local channels (4 state and 3 non-state channels) and five foreign channels.

The aim of the project on introduction of terrestrial digital television is to improve use of radio frequency spectrum, quality of broadcasting services, introduction of interactive services, etc.

The Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information and its enterprises are implementing the project on introduction of digital television, which is introduced in Tashkent and regions of Uzbekistan.
