About 142,000 persons find jobs in 1Q
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-March 2009, about 160,300 persons applied to labor agencies for employment, which was 1% more compared to January- March 2008.

Out of the total number of citizens registered as those who are looking for a job, about 73.2% are rural citizens, 0.4% - persons at the age of 16-18 years old, 50.7% - persons at the age of 18-30 years old, and 47.6% - persons at the age of 30-50 years old.

About 142,000 persons found jobs with the assistance of labor agencies (88.6% of all persons applied to labor agencies), which was 3.1 percentage points more than in January-March 2008.

From total number of citizens, who found jobs, 51.6% fall upon youth (persons at the age of 16-30 years old), 47.2% - upon persons at the age of 30-50 years old. The main part of persons, who found jobs (73.6%) falls upon inhabitants of rural area.

As of the end of March 2009, the number of citizens registered through labor agencies as those who are looking for a job was 23,500 persons versus 31,600 persons as of the end of March 2008.

The greatest number of citizens registered through labor agencies as those who are looking for a job was marked in Tashkent city - 4,400 persons (18.7% of the total number of persons registered in labor agencies), Kashkadarya region - 2,900 persons (12.3%), Khorezm region - 2,500 persons (10,6%), Navoi region - 2,200 persons (9.4%).

The realization of adopted target complex programmes on development of services, animal husbandry and hired labor ensured the creation of 208,600 new workplaces in January-March 2009.

The greatest number of workplaces was created in Tashkent city (11.2% of total newly created workplaces), Kashkadarya region (9.5%), Ferghana region (9%), Samarkand region (8.8%), Andijan region (8.8%) and Tashkent region (8.6%).

Out of the total number of newly created workplaces, about 71% (148,200 jobs) were created in rural areas.
