Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, has been elected as the new head of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation.
He replaces Alisher Sa’dullaev, who previously held the position, while also serving as the Director of the Youth Affairs Agency of Uzbekistan.
Chess veteran Komil Sindarov was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chess Federation.
The decision to appoint Aripov was made during an extraordinary session of the Chess Federation. The session also focused on preparations for the upcoming Chess Olympiad, which will take place in 2026 in Uzbekistan.
The federation plans to place significant emphasis on restructuring its grassroots operations, aligning them with international standards and requirements.
