A preparation to upcoming Olympic Games discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports continues to discuss the plans of the Federation and Associations to prepare for the Asian Games Hangzhou-2022 and the Olympic Games Paris-2024. Today, the presentation of the Triathlon and Archery Federations of Uzbekistan, as well as the Football Association of Uzbekistan took place.

The event was attended by officials of the Ministry, headed by Deputy Minister Shakhrullo Makhmudov, Advisor to the Chairman of the NOC Alisher Karimov. At the meeting, the General Secretaries of the Triathlon Federation Elena Kun and AFU Avaz Maksumov, as well as the First Deputy Chairman of the Archery Federation Otabek Imamov, spoke in detail about the plans for their areas.

It is worth noting that until that time, the delegation of Uzbekistan did not take part in these sports at the last Olympic Games. In the presentation, each specialist noted that with the support of the state, the experience of domestic athletes has grown significantly, and the chances of the National teams to receive tickets to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris are high. It was noted that Uzbek athletes would compete for individual licenses in triathlon and archery.

As expected, special emphasis was placed on football. Indeed, among team sports, the chances of obtaining an Olympic license are much higher in this particular discipline. Avaz Maksumov said that the creation of the Olympic club at the NOC had a great help in the formation of the Olympic team, this project showed its effectiveness at the Asian Cup, which took place in our country last year. He also noted that both women’s and men’s teams will participate in the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, and both teams will compete for tickets to the Olympic Games.
