Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The anniversary V Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan will be held on 13-17 September this year.

Within the framework of this grandiose event, a number of exhibitions will be held, which will become a bright, colorful and authentic frame of the scientific part of the event, its visual embodiment.

Each of the exhibitions is organized within the framework of the presentation of 40 new books-albums from the series "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world."

The first is an exhibition of paintings and a multimedia project by J. Usmanov “Metaphysics of Contemplation. Based on the poetry of A. Navoi”. It consists of a series of paintings - parables "The Language of Birds" (2020-2021) and 4 video art inspired by the philosophical and poetic ideas of the poems of A. Navoi and O. Khayyam. The exhibition is timed to coincide with the completion of work on a book dedicated to the collection of the Alisher Navoi Library in Tashkent.

The second event is the photo exhibition “K. Behzad’s Miniatures” and the presentation of the gift edition “Kamall Ad-Din Behzad Shamed Mani”. The main part of the exhibition will be occupied by lithographs of the works of Behzad and his students, kept in various museums and libraries of the world, as well as copies of miniatures of Herat and Bukhara of the 15th – 16th centuries. Also, the viewer will get acquainted with miniatures of contemporary artists and calligraphers from the museum collection. 

The third event is a photo exhibition of the archeologist, researcher of the culture of Central Asia Leon Semyonovich Barshchevsky. The idea of the exhibition arose because in the near future a book-album from the series "The cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the world’s collections" about the heritage of Uzbekistan in the museums of Poland will be published. This volume contains a section dedicated to the photographs of Leon Barshchevsky, which were taken by him in Uzbekistan. It is these unique photographs that will make up the exposition of the exhibition.

No less interesting will be the photo exhibition "History of Uzbekistan in photographs", which will show rare archival photographs of Uzbekistan from the period when the art of photography was born on our territory and up to the end of the 19th century. The exposition includes color photographs of the remarkable photographer S.M. Prokudin-Gorsky, historical photographs from the collections of the leading museums of Uzbekistan are also presented.

The exhibition "100 Outstanding Manuscripts of Uzbekistan" and the presentation of the pilot issue of the facsimile will acquaint viewers with the unique manuscripts of Uzbekistan and Central Asia. The exhibition will demonstrate the achievements of the project "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world." The exposition of the exhibition will include unique and rare manuscripts of outstanding scientists, poets and writers of Uzbekistan. The manuscript heritage will be represented by facsimile copies of the originals kept in the collections of world museums and private collections.

Project "3D technologies in modern science", a virtual tour of the monuments of Shakhrisabz and Samarkand, will present models of architectural monuments - Bibi-Khanym, Registan, Gur-i Amir, Shahi-Zinda, Mir-i Arab madrasah and others, made on a 3D printer. Also, visitors will be able to make a virtual trip to the architectural monuments of the two ancient cities of Uzbekistan.

The exhibition of Rishtan ceramics will be colorful and spectacular. At the beginning of the year, the International Ceramics Center was built in Rishtan district by the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, which united artisans and opened up new opportunities for them. Amazing samples of craftsmen’s products will be presented at the exhibition. Within the framework of the exhibition, it is also planned to present an exclusive book-album from the series "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the Collections of the World" dedicated to Rishtan ceramics.

It is worth noting that in addition to exhibitions, the program of the Week of Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan includes dozens of bright events designed to preserve and enhance the unique cultural heritage of our country and tell the world about it.
