Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Committee on Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption was established in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
This committee as representative body should make a worthy contribution to the further strengthening of the fight against corruption in government departments at all levels.
This committee is entrusted with a number of tasks to exercise parliamentary control over the formation and implementation of state anti-corruption programs in state bodies and institutions, to prepare proposals for the improvement of anti-corruption legislation, as well as to analyze current acts of legislation in order to identify in them conditions for corruption.
Also among the priorities are a systematic study of law enforcement activities of state bodies and organizations in the field of combating corruption, holding hearings of officials at committee meetings regarding activities in the field of combating corruption, considering appeals of individuals and legal entities, other information about corruption, regular information to members of parliament about the work done.
