A memorandum of cooperation was signed in Turkey between representatives of the tourism sector of the Ferghana region and TURKSOY

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In August this year, a delegation consisting of representatives of the tourism and culture sector of Ferghana region visited Turkey.

A number of agreements were reached during the "Inspiration of the Turkic World" tour. The ceremony of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and Ferghana region, which envisages the creation of legal infrastructure for tourism and cultural relations in the city of Karaman, was held.

Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev noted that the document signed between the General Secretariat of TURKSOY and Ferghana region is aimed at strengthening relations and cooperation and is of great importance. He also noted that Ferghana is famous for its cultural values, ancient traditions, fertile land and scientists, and is also an important tourist center with its architectural monuments and natural resources.

“This memorandum of cooperation is an important step towards the implementation of cultural and artistic projects. It is also important for us that this step be taken in Karaman, where the Turkic language was first adopted as an official language,” Raev said.

After that, a memorandum was signed between Sultan Raev and the deputy khakim of the Ferghana region Khurshijon Akhmedov.

This memorandum envisages:

- conducting joint scientific and technical research of TURKSOY and the Ferghana region in order to preserve and pass on to future generations the culture and heritage of the Turkic world;

– organization of seminars, conferences, symposiums, congresses, field studies, exhibitions, competitions, festivals, concerts and other events.

After the ceremony of signing the memorandum, Sultan Raev awarded Khurshijon Akhmedov with the highest award of the Republic of Turkey - the Golden Order of Honor for outstanding services to the culture and art of the Turkic world. Also, the singer, composer and poet Otabek Mamazoitov was awarded the Ashik Veysel medal, established by the organization in connection with the 125th anniversary of the birth of Ashik Veysel.

At the end of the ceremony, gifts and certificates were presented to artists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, who participated in the "Inspiration of the Turkic World" tour.

TURKSOY International Organization was founded in 1993. Its permanent members are 6 states - Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.

The main goal of the organization is to strengthen national friendship and cooperation between the Turkic states and peoples, to preserve, transfer economic, material and cultural values to future generations, their further development and wide propaganda.

In 2020, the city of Khiva was elected the cultural capital of the Turkic world and retained this status until 2022.

TURKSOY cooperates with the Turkic Council, the International Turkish Academy, the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, international organizations UNESCO and ISESCO, the CIS Social Cooperation Foundation and others.
