Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The leadership of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the country’s financial sector with particular emphasis on risk-related aspects.

It was emphasized that the Central Bank is taking full-scale measures to ensure macroeconomic stability.

In addition, the parties discussed the process of transformation and privatization of state-owned banks in accordance with the strategy for the development of the banking system. EBRD representatives highly appreciated the actions of the Central Bank to support the banking sector during the pandemic and against the backdrop of global uncertainties.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on further cooperation on the issues discussed.
