Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held between the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Adil Karimli and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, to participate in the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

According to the ministry, during the meeting it was noted that the countries have a common history, cultural roots, similar customs and traditions, they spoke about the deepening of ties in the field of culture, as well as the work carried out in this direction.

It was noted that a special role in the successful development of bilateral relations, especially in the field of culture, between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, which always live in conditions of friendship and brotherhood, is played by good relations between the heads of the two states, as a result of which relations in the field of culture go to a wider plane.

The peoples of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have always maintained literary ties. It is not surprising that many Azerbaijani writers lived and worked in Uzbekistan. At the same time, Uzbek writers lived and worked in Azerbaijan and made a great contribution to Azerbaijani literature.

The Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov told journalists about this. According to him, a number of events envisaged by the program of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Azerbaijan will also cover the literary sphere.

“The literary interaction that has developed historically between the two countries continues successfully today. As an example of fruitful cooperation, I can cite Abdulla Gadiri’s recently translated into Azerbaijani language "Past Days". We have important work to do with Azerbaijan. Thanks to our cooperation, we will achieve great success. This, in turn, will contribute to the growth of authority in the world of Turkic literature as a whole. Our ties in the literary sphere have long-standing solid foundations. Cooperation in the field of culture is the best way to demonstrate to the world the literary potential of the Uzbek and Azerbaijani people, the entire Turkic world,” added Ozodbek Nazarbekov.

By order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a modern school is being built in the Fizuli region of Azerbaijan. The construction of the school will be completed in the near future, the opening ceremony will take place as part of the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Azerbaijan.

According to the minister, the construction of this school is considered as support of the Uzbek state to Azerbaijan. “We hope that the students of the school will play a special role in the friendship between our countries. The construction of the school is an indicator of friendly and fraternal relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan,” O. Nazarbekov noted.
