Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Renovation of the airfield complex continues at Tashkent airport. In particular, work has begun on the overhaul of aircraft stands B1-B5 and B11-B17, as well as taxiway RD-B. As part of the overhaul, artificial turf will be strengthened, the press service of Uzbekistan Airports said in a statement.
“The last time pavement repairs in these areas were carried out was in the 2000s. Due to the long service life, defective areas have formed on the existing surface that require urgent repairs,” commented the Uzbekistan Airports airfield technical support department.
The total area of the asphalt concrete mixture pavement being repaired will be 92 thousand square meters.
In April of this year, the second runway at Tashkent airport was completely reconstructed and put into operation.
