A jazz trio from France to perform at the opening of the VIII International Jazz Festival in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legendary jazz group from France Marc Berthoumieux Trio will present its new live album entitled Les Сhoses de la Vie (Little things in life) . The performance will take place on 26 April at the venue near the Palais des Internationales forums.

This is the band’s seventh album and the second live album by the group consisting of lead singer Marc Berthumier, bassist Laurent Vernerey and pianist Giovanni Mirabassi. This album was recorded during their concert in Seoul and consists of the following compositions: “El Astor” (2004), written in honor of Astor Piazzolla, as well as “In Other Words” with themes by Michel Petrucciani, and works by Pat Metheny, Sting, Elton John, and the eternal melody of Philippe Sard for the film by Claude Sautet “Les Choses de la Vie”, which gives the title to this new opus.

Everyone in the world knows the lyricism, virtuosity and authenticity of Giovanni Mirabassi, this unique pianist with whom Marc Berthumier has enjoyed sharing the stage for more than ten years. Bassist Laurent Vernerey, known for the numerous albums he has contributed to, is undoubtedly one of the finest bassists in French music production.

The release of the new album “Les Choses de la Vie” not only provides an opportunity for the trio to reunite on stage, but also becomes one of Marc Berthumier’s flagship projects for the upcoming season.
