Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 22-year-old man wearing women’s clothing and a niqab covering his face was detained in Tashkent.
Police officers noticed a “girl” with her face completely covered near the Kukeldash Madrasah on Navoi Street. According to the new law of Uzbekistan, it is prohibited to be in public places with a covered face, which makes identification difficult.
Upon inspection, it turned out that a 22-year-old man from Tashkent region was hiding under women’s clothing. He was detained despite active resistance.
It is noted that this man often wears a burqa and hijab.
The court found him guilty of violating Article 184-4 (Being in public places in a form that does not allow personal identification) and Article 195 (Obstructing the performance of official duty by employees of internal affairs bodies).
He was sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest and a fine of 10 BRV (3.4 million soums).
