Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 1 October at 11:45 PM, a fire broke out on the territory of Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction, reports the press service of the regional Department of Emergency Situations.

The fire occurred in the auditorium under construction on Lolazor Street.

Six fire and rescue units were dispatched to extinguish the fire, arriving at the scene at 11:54 PM. The fire was fully extinguished by 12:30 AM.

As a result of the incident, construction materials were damaged by the fire. No casualties were reported.

An investigation into the causes of the fire is currently underway.
