Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiev, will take part in the SCO Forum “Year of Tourism 2023”, opening on 24 November in the city of Urumqi. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.

The forum, organized in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China, will be the first thematic forum held within the framework of the SCO Year of Tourism.

The event will bring together representatives of tourism administrations, international organizations, government and business structures, experts in the field of tourism and diplomats from the SCO countries.

The SCO countries will discuss joint initiatives for the development of tourism, including the tourism potential of the SCO, the promotion of sustainable tourism and development as a factor in poverty reduction.

Participants will also travel to natural and cultural attractions of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
